Jewelry and personalization
Personalization is detail work: an inscription that follows the shape of the piece, a font that matches the occasion, and a part you get exactly one try at.
Inscriptions that fit the piece
- Text on a path — around a circle or along any Bézier curve, inside or outside, with vertical placement control and a “keep glyphs upright” mode for inscriptions that stay readable around a pendant.
- Touch Type moves, scales and rotates individual characters — tune the composition without breaking the text apart.
- TrueType/OTF fonts with favorites, collections and language filters in the Font Manager; height is set in millimeters, so the inscription matches the piece, not the screen.
- Per-glyph hatching keeps counters of letters crisp — fills stay clean even in fine script faces.
- Live symmetry for ornaments: draw one half, the mirror follows in real time and welds on the axis into a single shape.
Rings and tumblers on the rotary axis
- Text/Object mode marks unit by unit — the axis turns each glyph to the apex, it burns flat, the axis moves on. Confirmed on real hardware, with cycle timing matching EzCad.
- Step-by-step red-light trace: the axis brings each unit to the apex and the pointer outlines it; walk the ring glyph by glyph with the arrow keys before anything burns — on a one-of-a-kind part that preview is the job.
- Rotary 3D simulation shows the burn on a rotating ring or tumbler with material presets — a client-friendly preview (first version, still maturing).
- Wide vector artwork marks in Vector Mark (split) mode — implemented and working through the emulator and tests; final on-machine validation of split burning is still in progress.
One try, no surprises
- Simulation (F4) replays the job through the real marking pipeline with a time estimate — check the path before touching the piece.
- Material Test finds the mode on a spare blank: sweep two parameters in a grid, pick the best cell, transfer it to a pen (the test-grid tool itself is still going through final on-machine validation).
- Modes you have verified per material live in the pen preset library.
Good to know
- Raster engraving on the rotary axis is not supported — vector marking works; engrave photos and rasters flat.
- No SHX single-stroke fonts — use a thin contour TTF and mark outlines without fill.
